Robert Edrington went to be with the Lord on August 13, 2016. He was born in Muncie on April 13,1941 to Walter and Florence Edrington. He graduated from Royerton High School in 1959 and moved to Chicago shortly thereafter, where he met his wife Judy in 1966. Bob worked as a Project Engineer and pursued independent professional ventures in the Chicago area before returning to Royerton to enjoy his retirement years.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy; daughter, Jessica; son, Alex (Betsy); sister, Ruth (Pete) Blansit, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Nellie and Doris, and brother Bill.
Bob enjoyed driving his old Cadillacs, traveling, helping others, meeting new people, fixing things, having coffee with old friends and classmates, mowing grass, and moving snow. He was an active member of the Central Indiana Old Car Club and the Cadillac LaSalle Club; he had a passion for old cars and photography. He could answer the most obscure questions about old cars (Cadillacs especially) and was infamous for his photo-shopping creativity. He refused to let being a severe hemophiliac prevent him from living a full and accomplished life, and he drew upon his experiences to contribute to the Patient Advisory Board of the Indiana Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center.
Bob valued the special friendships of Steve and Debbie Metcalfe and John (Becky) Johnson and also treasured long time friendships with Joe and Colene LaMonica and Ray and Maryellen Storms.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Indiana Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center for their excellent care and friendships – especially Drs. Anne Greist and Amy Shapiro. The entire staff is awesome!
A celebration of his life will be held by Rev. Wade Allen at 3:00, Friday, August 19,at First Baptist Church of Muncie. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hemophilia of Indiana or First Baptist Church of Muncie.
